Installation

Every Vellure piece ships uninstalled. The wall bracket and the ribs travel separately, which protects the ribs on the way to you, and means you can paint or stain them before they go up if you want to add a splash of colour or make the piece your own. Installing it takes about five minutes.

What's in the box

  • The wall bracket, numbered along its length
  • The ribs, each numbered to match its place on the bracket
  • Screws and wall anchors

What you'll need

  • A level
  • A drill
  • A marker

How to install

  1. Choose the spot. On an open wall, centre the piece about 57 to 60 inches from the floor. Above a sofa, leave 8 to 10 inches between the sofa back and the bottom of the piece.
  2. Mark the bracket. Hold the bracket against the wall, check it is level, and mark the screw holes with the marker.
  3. Fix the bracket to the wall. Drill the marked holes, fit the supplied anchors, and screw the bracket to the wall with the supplied screws.
  4. Slot in the ribs. Each rib carries a number that matches a number on the bracket. Slide each one into its numbered slot, working from one end to the other.
  5. Step back. Check that every rib is fully seated and the piece sits level.

Adding your own colour

Because the ribs arrive loose, it is easy to paint, stain or seal them before installation. Finish them off the bracket, let them dry completely, and note each rib's number first in case your finish covers it.
