These terms apply when you use velluregallery.com (the "site") or buy from Vellure Gallery ("we", "us", "our"), Brooklyn, New York. By placing an order, you agree to them. Our Refund policy and lifetime guarantee, Shipping policy and Privacy policy form part of these terms.

1. Our pieces

Each piece is made by hand from birch after you order it. Walnut Stain and Black Stain are colours we apply by hand to birch. Neither is solid walnut or another species. Because wood is a natural material, grain, knots and tone vary, and no two pieces are identical. Our product images show the design, proportions and finish of each piece as accurately as we can. Your piece's grain and exact tone will be its own, and colours can look different on different screens. Dimensions are approximate to within about 1/4 inch (6 mm).

2. Orders and pricing

Prices are in US dollars and can change at any time before you order. The price confirmed at checkout is the price you pay. An order is accepted when we send your order confirmation. We may decline or cancel an order, for example if a price or product was listed in error or if we suspect fraud. If we do, we'll refund you in full. Sales tax is calculated at checkout where it applies.

3. Payment

Payment is taken in full at checkout through Shopify's secure payment processing. We never see or store your full card details.

4. Shipping and risk

Lead times and delivery details are in our Shipping policy. Lead times are good-faith estimates, not guarantees. Responsibility for your piece passes to you when it's delivered. Until then, any loss or damage is ours to put right. For international orders, you're the importer and you pay any customs duties and import taxes.

5. Returns, cancellations and the lifetime guarantee

Pieces are made to order and can't be returned or exchanged. You may cancel within 24 hours of ordering. Damage in transit and the lifetime guarantee are covered in our Refund policy. That guarantee is our only warranty. To the extent the law allows, all other warranties, express or implied, are excluded. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under consumer law that can't be excluded.

6. Commissions

For a commissioned piece, we confirm its design, size, finish, price and timeline with you in writing before work begins. Once you approve them, the commission can't be cancelled.

7. Hanging and care

Pieces must be hung indoors using the hardware we supply, on a wall that can hold their weight. If you're unsure, use a professional installer. To clean, dust with a soft, dry cloth. Keep pieces away from water, moisture, high humidity and direct heat.

8. Intellectual property

Our designs, photographs, text and the Vellure Gallery name and marks belong to us. Buying a piece gives you ownership of that physical piece. It doesn't give you the right to reproduce, copy or sell the design. Please don't use our content without written permission.

9. Using the site

Please don't misuse the site. That includes trying to disrupt it, accessing it by automated means for scraping, or using it for anything unlawful. We work to keep the site accurate, but we may correct errors and update content at any time.

10. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim relating to a piece or an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. We aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses. This doesn't limit liability that can't be limited by law.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA. Any dispute will be heard in the state or federal courts located in New York, unless your local consumer law gives you the right to bring it where you live.

12. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. The version posted when you place your order applies to that order.
